We're back from vacation and we had such a glorious time that that I'm not sure regular life will ever seem the same again! One of the best parts of our time away was the Oregon Regency Society Spring Debut Ball where I got to meet Lauren of The Lady of Portland House. It is so much fun to meet people you have chatted with, it is like having instant friends! Lauren was stunning in her new silk gown and looked like she walked out of "The Duchess." We had the best time, and learned some new English country dances along the way! I wish we lived closer because we would be the best of girlfriends! Lauren was such a sweetheart, she even loaned me one of her own dresses to wear after Hubby forgot mine (remind me to tell you that funny story on another day :). And now...pictures! Enjoy! That's us with the founder of the Oregon Regency Society, who incidentally WA ladies, said she would lend her expertise if we want to work on our very own Regency Society. (cough, cough, Cassie? Sarah? Melissa? Nona?)
Lauren's husband, Aaron, who was both dashing and charming, and quite a talented photographer!
Learning about the Groups of 4 and our positions for the dances...
Dancing with one of the Coordinators of the event...they actually gave us a free night at a B&B just for coming from so far away...now we have accomodations for the next ball!
The table settings/decorations and some of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) members tearing up the floor. (These two actually met at a Jane Austen disscusion club and later got married - their own version of an Austen romance!)
And last, but certainly not least, the sweetest most indulgent hubby, who accompanied me and even admitted that he had a lot of fun and would be open to more balls in the future. I love you!

Looks so fun!!
It was so much fun! I loved meeting you. We will definately have to do that again :-)
And yes, we need to get Sarah Jane out here :-)
You and Lauren both look so beautiful! I WILL come out there someday! No one around here shares my love of historic costume, except hubby, but he is more into the wool and shiny button sort of thing rather than silks and laces. . .sigh. . .what a glorious time it looks you had!
This is so lovely - I wish we had something like a regency ball here in our area, then I could wear my wedding dress again :)
