1930s Walking skirt

(Image from http://www.fashion-era.com/)

This is my first attempt at a 1930s skirt pattern in a tan wool. Love how the shape turned out! The fit is not so much how I intended in the hips, so I'm cutting the next one a size smaller. It's also really long! I'm thinking of hemming to just below the knees to get that "swingyness".

My favorite aspect of this skirt is the pleats that open as you walk, hence the "walking" skirt. Now to find the right long shirt and maybe an awesome belt of some kind.
There are lots of fun things planned at
our house this weekend! I'm ready to trade in my hairstyle of the last two years for a new look. We're also headed to the stores for some much needed clothes and shoes! I'll keep you posted on our finds! Have a great weekend!
